Dinner für Dolly

The film Dinner für Dolly is a queer chamber-play, set in the present, centering on a group of lesbian Millennials. The surreal satire unfolds in a bourgeois townhouse in Switzerland, home to the eccentric couple Yale and Alex, who annually host a festive dinner for their queer friends. The event celebrates not only Alex’s birthday but also the anniversary of Dolly Parton’s album Dolly, Dolly, Dolly, an obsession for the couple. However, this year’s dinner takes an unexpected turn when Alex’s gay twin brother introduces a new acquaintance from the U.S. named Gil – an artist and former TV star.
